Strong demand continues as nexus races to three millionth booking milestone to end another record year

Nexus Vehicle Rental, the UK’s leading tech driven business mobility provider, has reached its milestone three millionth vehicle rental booking this month, following a record year of trading and keeping businesses moving, despite some of the most challenging supply conditions ever seen in the rental marketplace.

It took Nexus over 11 years to reach the first million milestone, around seven years for the second million, while the last million has been achieved in just over three years; demonstrating the firm’s commitment to investing in tech to keep up with the ever-growing demands of the business mobility market, enabling customers to access an unrivalled vehicle supply chain.

For over 20 years, Nexus has supported some of the UK’s largest fleets in the logistics, construction, utilities, wholesale and retail sectors by enabling direct access to the largest rental supply chain across all vehicle groups; including cars, vans, HGVs, electric vehicles and specialist vehicles.

Operating the UK’s largest supply chain of 550,000 vehicles from over 2,000 UK locations, Nexus uses cutting edge technology to connect customers to any vehicle, anywhere, anytime through its pioneering rental booking and management platform, IRIS.

IRIS allows its customers to control every aspect of their rental fleet whilst the pioneering Management Information (MI) suite spots trends in vehicle usage to identify efficiencies in rental solutions. Its technology is used to support some of the UK’s largest fleets across the logistics, construction, retail, and utility sectors.

David Brennan, CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said:

“The last 12 months have continued to be hugely challenging for all businesses however, we are really pleased to have been able to continue supporting our customers throughout this time. To reach the milestone of our three millionth booking is a great testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and I’m proud that we have achieved this extra million in less than three years.”

“Despite the obstacles that we have faced as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Brexit and various supply shortages impacting the sector, we have continued to develop our offering – launching new products and investing in our team – and, thanks to our breadth of suppliers and tech-led solutions, deliver a great level of service to our customers.”

In response to customer demand coupled with the challenges facing the marketplace in 2021, Nexus has focused on enhancing its proposition – including the addition of plant hire to its supply portfolio – and introducing new wider mobility solutions to overcome and mitigate the issues affecting the automotive industry.

This month, Nexus also won the Best Fleet Software Product for its IRIS rental management platform at the prestigious Business Car Awards which, for more than a decade, have recognised excellence in the automotive fleet sector and rewarded innovation and fleet expertise among suppliers and fleet operators.
