Nexus Vehicle Rental has been recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service as a top 100 apprenticeship employer for displaying the highest standards of excellence when employing apprentices. The apprentices are at the very core of the company, and Nexus is now benefitting from a pool of talent that have grown in skills and confidence with the business.
This recognition from the National Apprenticeship Service includes an invitation to the National Apprenticeship Awards, and the list of 100 employers really showcases the growing spread of businesses that now offer apprenticeships.
Gayle Howarth, Operations Development Manager at Nexus, had this to say about their recognition:
'At Nexus the apprenticeship route has really brought fresh thinking and diversity. Historically we looked to employ people with experience but often found the skills didn't quite match business needs.'
'The apprenticeship route allows the flexibility to mould the learner into the culture and values of the business whilst helping them develop their own careers.'
Nexus have a unique approach to developing their workforce with their 'NexSteps' programme, which encourages learners to progress not only upwards, but laterally by building their competency within different departments. They are now reaping the benefits of this unique training approach, which you can learn more about here.
