A New Year for Nexus
As we bid farewell to the year of transformation, growth, innovation and success that was 2024, it’s time to set our sights on the future and all that 2025 has in store for Nexus, our suppliers and our customers.
Here Nexus’ Executive Board share their hopes and ambitions for the year ahead.
Number one tech-led business for vehicle rental
“In 2024, Nexus Rental has reached several key milestones that I’m incredibly proud of; we successfully grew our business in almost all aspects; attracting talent, winning new customers, financial performance and opening a new Leeds City Centre ‘hub’, and we completely re-branded the business at the same time.
Looking ahead, 2025 is a year filled with immense potential. My vision for Nexus is to continue evolving as a forward-thinking company that nurtures our talent, grows our sustainability, technology, and enhances customer and partner satisfaction. I hope to expand our offering into new and adjacent markets and continuing the transformative ‘Tech-led’ journey.
We also aim to improve our internal operations with AI and data analytics, improving both efficiency and the customer and employee journey. We will also focus on the evolution of the Nexus re-brand to ensure we continue to be viewed as the number one tech-led business for vehicle rental.”
Growth, support, equality, diversity, and inclusion for our people
“As we move into 2025, I’m excited about the opportunities ahead. I’m really looking forward to seeing the business evolve and transition into the tech-led space, taking full advantage of the innovations and possibilities that lie ahead.
On a personal level, I’m eager to see the fantastic foundations we’ve built when it comes to well-being, equity, diversity, and inclusion really take off. It’s one thing to launch these plans, but it’s another to watch them thrive and make a real difference.
Equally important to me is seeing our people continue to develop and succeed. I want to ensure we’re putting the right support, training, and resources in place so that everyone has the chance to pursue their career aspirations and grow with us.”
Delivering a tech vision for the future
“Tech at Nexus has been through a huge overhaul over the last 12 months. When I joined at the end of 2023, the ambition was to become a truly tech-led business.
While respecting the company’s legacy and the journey that has brought Nexus to where it is today, 2024 was about putting wheels in motion to deliver a vision for the future, building a culture of innovation, and supporting our talented team as we enter the next chapter.
This level of transformation doesn’t happen overnight, and in 2025 we will continue this evolution.
We will also continue our investments in AI, data, and our people to expand our capabilities, nurture our talent, and arm our people with tools and resources that will help them excel in their careers.”
Entering new markets
“In 2024 we celebrated another year of growth and financial success, attracting new customers but also improving profitability. None of this would be possible without our great people and it has it’s been lovely to see how all teams continue to work together, develop, stretch themselves…and have fun.
No day is a boring day at Nexus!
My hopes for 2025 are for much more of the same. We will continue to deliver a great customer and supply chain experience, providing opportunities for colleague development, and delivering the numbers (of course). But we can’t rest on our laurels, so I expect further evolution as a business to embrace cutting-edge technology, growth opportunities, new markets, more efficient ways of working.”
Delivering for our customers
“In 2025 we will continue to grow at pace through new business wins and the strategic development of our products. We will be innovative and improve efficiency with tech-led products and continue to invest and develop our people.
We will continue to work towards a deeper understanding of our customers, enabling us to co-innovate and deliver our mission:
To harness the power of our solutions and support our customers’ to be their most trusted and valued partner”.
Sustainability in the vehicle rental industry
“Looking ahead to the next 12 months, the industry faces the challenge of sustainability and how to advance the UK’s EV infrastructure, but the growth opportunity in front of us is mammoth. Our potential in new products and markets is clear to see, however we still have opportunities for growth in our traditional markets.
Our tech development is challenging age-old processes as we make changes to benefit our customers, suppliers, and the business.
The data we have is unique and, if we can utilise it in the right ways, it could have a massive impact on the industry.
We are on a journey both as individuals and as a team. There’s a fantastic foundation and reputation to build on, but we need to be brave enough to challenge how we do things and embrace change.”
